Beef Casserole

500g Diced beef (gravy beef is best)
¼ Cup of flour
Mixed Herbs
Salt & Pepper
1 onion (lar
gely sliced)
2 carrots (lar
gely chopped)
½ Cup of peas
3 Beef OXO Cubes
500mL of boilin
g water

2 Cups Self Raising Flour
Mixed Herbs
2 Tablespoons Butter
About ¼ Cup of Milk


1. Preheat the oven to 170ºC.

2. Put meat in a plastic bag with flour, mixed herbs and salt and pepper. Toss to coat meat.

3. Next, brown meat in fry pan with a little bit of oil and then place this meat in a casserole dish.

4. Add Onions and Carrots and stir.

5. Combine water and OXO Cubes and then pour in the casserole dish and stir.

6. Cook for 1 hour and 10 minutes, stirring every now and then.

7. To make the dumplings combing the flour and mixed herbs. Rub in the butter to this mixture and then add the milk and stir. If mixture is dry, add more milk until it is a thick paste and form this into balls.

8. Returning to the casserole, add peas and dumplings and cook for a further 20 minutes.
