November 2006 Newsletter

Welcome to Lewis Financial's November 2006 Newsletter.

This month we have included an update on the proposed changes to Superannuation, which were foreshadowed in the May Budget.  In light of these changes, we have also included a brief discussion of some strategies which will cease to be effective after the end of this financial year.

It should be noted that the changes to Superannuation are still proposals at this stage, and it is anticipated that there will be some further refinements prior to them becoming Law.

We turn our attention to the Australian Share Market in an article by economist Dr Shane Oliver, who discusses the prospects for Merger and Acquisition activity and its implications for Australian Share investment.

Lastly, we look at an article by Hillross Economist, Brad Matthews, who reviews the severity of the drought currently being faced by our rural communities and discusses the impact this may have on the economy and on investment performance.
